Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) team at St Ann's Hospital in Poole. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals experiencing mental health crises.

About the Role

The primary function of the HBPoS team is to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals being detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act. You will work closely with our clinical site managers, police, and other external agencies to ensure the timely assessment and care of those in our care.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans to ensure the safe and effective care of those in our care.
  2. Liaise with a range of professionals, including police, AMHPs, and medical colleagues, to facilitate the assessment and care of individuals in our care.
  3. Ensure all clinical and legal procedures are completed in accordance with Trust policy and Mental Health Act legislation.
  4. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered mental health nurse with experience of working with adults with serious and acute episodes of mental illness. You will also need to have a good working knowledge of legal frameworks, including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
