Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) team at St Ann's Hospital in Poole.

About the Role

The primary function of the HBPoS team is to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing, caring for, and treating individuals who have been detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough assessments of individuals to ensure their safety and well-being.
  2. Liaise with police, AMHPs, and other external agencies to facilitate timely assessments and interventions.
  3. Ensure all clinical and legal procedures are completed in accordance with Trust policy and MHA legislation.
  4. Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote recovery and well-being.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration as a Mental Health Nurse with the NMC.
  • Experience of working with adults with serious and acute mental illness.
  • Good working knowledge of legal frameworks, including the MHA, MCA, and DOLs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
