Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for ensuring high quality, safe care is delivered across all services at Tetbury Hospital Trust.

They will promote a culture of learning and openness and ensure clinical staff have the knowledge, capability, systems and support to deliver care and embed lessons learned in practice for the improvement of patient care. The post holder will take the role of Patient Safety Specialist for the Trust and Safeguarding Lead across Adults and Children.

Provide expert professional advice and leadership relating to clinical audit and risk management using recognised quality metrics and reporting.

Take the lead role in overseeing and delivering the Trusts clinical audit programme reporting to the Clinical Audit Group.

Develop and implement the Trusts quality strategy using relevant and up to date guidance linked to best practice.

Compile the Trusts annual Quality Accounts and annual report on complaints and incidents.

Provide expert advice to identify areas where current practices could be changed or modified to improve patient outcomes.

Manage data relating to incident reporting and work with senior colleagues and department leads to identify areas for improvement and develop associated action plans.

Ensure clinical incidents are reported in accordance with Trust Policy and Patient Safety Incident Reporting Framework (PSIRF), identifying trends, learning and actions.

Take the lead role in developing, monitoring and providing assurance to address CQC actions following inspection as part of regulatory compliance.

Significant experience of quality risk and audit agenda. Experience of project management and team leadership. Experience of regulatory framework systems and processes. Experience and understanding of clinical audit methodologies. Evidence of managing change and change management. Skills. Qualifications

Essential

Healthcare professional registration / Registered Nurse. National Patient Safety Level 4 or willingness to work towards. Evidence of working at degree level or relevant experience. Evidence of continuing professional development. Experience of safeguarding adults and children.

Desirable

Project management qualification, PRINCE. Level 4 safeguarding adults and children. Have or working towards a management/leadership qualification.
