Allen & York is pleased to collaborate with a prestigious organization in the recruitment of a Lead Arboricultural Curator. This exceptional position offers the chance to oversee a celebrated collection of trees, safeguarding and enhancing the rich diversity of over 15,000 specimens.

The ideal candidate will manage the tree care team and its related initiatives. You will also be part of the senior management team, working alongside other leaders to establish strategic direction for the arboretum and foster interdepartmental collaboration.

With a keen artistic vision and expertise in woody plant species, you will engage with professionals both locally and internationally, bridging the gap between people and trees to elevate the quality of life.

Applicants should possess a relevant professional qualification at level 6 (degree level or equivalent chartered status) along with substantial experience in a curatorial capacity, preferably within arboreta, botanical gardens, or similar environments. A deep understanding of planning and the ability to implement contemporary best practices in botanical collection management and conservation methods are essential. As an inspiring leader, you will have a proven history of performance management, capable of nurturing and guiding teams to foster a collaborative atmosphere. Excellent communication skills are vital, as you will represent the organization across various platforms, both nationally and internationally.

A Master's degree in botany, horticulture, arboriculture, forestry, or a related field would be beneficial for this role.
