Job summary
To drive forward the transformation of CMHT care across the North and Mid Hampshire Mental Health Services in line with policies and guidelines.
To lead health care, and promote a culture based on principles of recovery, choice and personalised care, in which service users can expect to be active in decision-making about their care and treatment. To liaise with partner agencies to ensure transitions of care and joint working are effective and safe.
To work in an effective partnership with senior clinicians in the service.
To promote an understanding amongst the workforce of its role in seeing our business succeed and thrive, in the context of a commercial and competitive environment.
To deploy the capacity of the service in order to ensure that demand is met by the most appropriately skilled practitioners, and to ensure that service users flow through pathways of care according to need. This includes being accountable for delivery of a proactive caseload management system.
To ensure the service works in line with agreed pathways, policies and guidelines, and is focussed on delivery of outcomes.
To coordinate the management of the senior multidisciplinary operational team leaders, ensuring effective training, ongoing professional development and professional supervision is maintained for all staff.
To manage financial resources efficiently and in line with agreed plans or budgets.
Main duties of the job
To manage direct reports to ensure the development of effective, responsive, evidence based and user focused services.
To undertake appraisals and agree personal development plans for identified senior staff and guide and support this process throughout the team in line with Mid and North business plans.
To ensure the co-ordination of consistent operational processes such as caseload management, including the allocation of referrals, review of cases, proactive monitoring of care packages, discharge planning and risk management. This will be in line with Trust processes and policies.
To hold overall management responsibility for effective and robust systems across the teams.
To be responsible for policy and procedures in relation to all areas covered by the teams.
To identify and address poor performance or conduct and take remedial action in line with organisational policy.

The transformation will happen in stages; Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning across in May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent NHS Trust services is expected in late 2024, when our new organisation, to be known as Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.

*Professional health or social services (RMN, OT, CQSW, DipSW) qualification *Evidence of ongoing, relevant professional development *Recognised management training/development *Ability to lead and develop a team in providing safe and affective mental health services. *Commitment to and track record in delivering recovery orientated services. *Strong leadership and communication skills *Manager service capacity effectively *Ability to act as the service lead for governance including CQC compliance/registration *Ability to understand and manage resources *Ability to work as part of a wider area and Directorate team to deliver consistent high standards of care across AMH. *Ability to problem solve and create a positive team attitude *Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Personalisation and other legislation *Intermediate IT skills
