We are on the lookout for 4 Visitor Centre Tour Guides with bundles of energy and enthusiasm to join our team. This is a varied role in which you will have the opportunity to deliver excellent customer experiences and impart a wealth of history and stories in a truly unique venue in Faversham. If you are friendly, adaptable and have a confident manner; this may be just the job for you.

This is a part-time role where the hours are flexible to lead our tours throughout the week. The exact hours of work will vary from week to week and can include evenings and weekends so availability at these times and the ability to work on a flexible basis are essential.

  • Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, spread over Monday - Sunday, including evenings. Actual working hours will vary due to the nature of the role and will be confirmed in advance. 


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in conducting guided tours and sharing knowledge of historical landmarks
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A deep appreciation for the history and culture of the brewery and its surrounding area
  • Sales skills to promote the brewery's products and services
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
  • Demonstrable experience in hospitality, tourism or relevant field


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare The Brewery for all tours, including but not limited to topping up leaflet and information stands, tidying bar areas, setting out function rooms, replenishing bottle coolers, preparing teas, coffees and light refreshments
  • Serve in shop and assisting with shop stocking as required
  • Prepare Visitor Centre and bar in accordance with checklists – these will be amended from time to time
  • Show groups around following tour route and script - pay particular attention to anything likely to be of special interest to the group and any recent awards/innovations
  • Answer visitors' questions as fully as you can. Make use of additional information sheets, news releases and other publications provided from time to time
  • Lead groups through tutored tasting and serve at bar as required
  • Close down Visitor Centre and bar in accordance with checklists – these will be amended from time to time
  • Provide feedback from visitors to Visitor Centre Operations Manager
  • Act as a Visitor Centre Assistant for events and functions hosted at and outside of the Brewery as and when required
  • Fulfil any other duties reasonably requested by Visitor Centre Operations Manager, Senior Tour Guide or Visitor Centre Duty Supervisors
