The Opportunity

The Senior Analyst, Transactions LPM will have experience in legal project management, and will be willing to build upon their knowledge and/or experience in this area and develop their project management skills, training and experience.

The Senior Analyst will be required to deliver excellent legal service to our clients, assisting with project management tasks and supporting the Legal Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Legal Project Managers within the relevant practice group(s), including:

Legal project management responsibilities

Supporting the Transactions Practices in the delivery of structured legal project management on large, complex or multi-jurisdictional matters. This will involve supporting the Legal Project Managers with day-to-day project management tasks. Support the design, development and implementation of matter budgets, together with the proactive monitoring of budgets against actual performance and lead on presenting findings to key stakeholders. Assist with the scoping, planning and reporting for projects, including developing the project plan and project timeline, providing regular status updates internally and to the client, and tracking of progress against scope, timeline and cost parameters. Communicate with the Associates, Senior Associates and Partners within the Practice Group and with clients on a regular basis - excellent drafting skills will therefore be essential. Capturing relevant legal project management case studies as examples of best practice and preparing slide decks and tombstone data for including in pitches, debriefs and training activities. Co-ordinating regular legal project management calls and meetings; distributing instructions to local counsel; and responding to legal team queries on matters of transaction/project process. supporting the Legal Project Managers in the management of external service providers and local counsel teams; managing conflicts clearances; preparing draft instructions; supporting matter kick off; process design and other administrative activities. drafting pitch content for the Legal Project Managers for submission on client and panel pitches covering legal project management frameworks and principles, technology and process improvement. Responding to client requests independently and following up directly and proactively on requests and deadlines. Leading internal meetings, demonstrating new tools and showcasing good LPM process and design. Responsible for the maintenance and population of volume data and documentation on supported matters. Research the LPM sector and share interesting articles/data.

Financial management and other reporting for supported matters


Collaborating with data and technology experts within Digital Legal Delivery as required:
 

supporting the Legal Project Managers with periodic reporting (status; financial; value; impact) and assisting with the gathering and clarification of inputs by engaging with the legal delivery teams Leading financial reporting processes and using various tools (Excel; PowerBI; native dashboard visualisations) to analyse and report data against agreed metrics

Technology and other activities
 

Collaborating with members of the Digital team as required:
 

Working on document automation or AI projects and providing interface between the transaction or matter team and other business services teams and functions Engaging with collaboration software and tools to set up and brand virtual deal rooms, data sites and the 'HSF Client Portal' Running periodic permission audit reports for multi-user collaboration sites to manage risk Supporting the collation and development of LPM collateral, tools and templates and manage the resource repositories for the Digital Legal Delivery teams Deliver training and demonstrations to lawyers, PAs and other business services teams on process and technology use and adoption Leading on legal process design opportunities by creating process maps, supporting the delivery of managed service pilots, and creating quick guides for clients and lawyers
 

People responsibilities
 

Formally or informally mentors more junior members of the LPM team

Qualifications, skills & experience

Essential

3 years plus working experience in a professional services environment (law firm preferred) Numerate, and able to convert complex/raw data into concise and actionable intelligence. Experience in a law firm environment An understanding of the financial framework of a law firm, remuneration models and key financial performance indicators Confident training and presentation skills

Desirable

Experience of using a Financial Practice Management System (e.g. Elite or Aderant Expert) an advantage Experience of using PowerBI (or PowerAutomate tools) for analysis and reporting. Relevant undergraduate/post graduate degree qualification.
