Job summary

The Hospice is looking for anempathic individual with administration experience to join the Hospice ClinicalAdministration team on a permanent contract. This role does include coveringSaturday mornings (8am to 12pm) as part of a rota, however this is not expectedto be more than once a month and does attract enhanced rates of pay. Workinghours in the week would include some 8am starts and/or finishing at 5pm.

Main duties of the job

The role, primarily based inthe bereavement office, involves supporting bereaved clients by responding toenquiries and processing new referrals from clients and healthcareprofessionals. Key duties include handling administrative tasks such as typing,scanning, photocopying, and data entry. The position requires liaising withstaff, managers, and clinicians across the Hospice, coordinating withvolunteers, and assisting the bereavement team in delivering the communityBereavement Support Service. This role requires a compassionate approach tosupporting clients during difficult times. This role will also include coverfor other administration roles which provide administrative support to ourother Clinical Services including the telephone support Hub, in-patient unitand administration office.

Due to the nature ofthe role, excellent communication skills, an empathetic approach, and abilityto work in a busy department where confidentiality and sensitivity areessential. You should be a proficient user of Microsoft Office applications andhave accurate typing and data entry skills. You should also be able toprioritise and organise your own workload to meet deadlines. A DBS check willbe required.
