Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Associate in Psychology, you will alongside the existing Clinical Psychologist and the wider multidisciplinary teams. Your duties could include:The provision of psychological assessment, formulation, individual and group interventions, for older people and people of all ages with a dementia.Working closely with qualified Clinical Psychologists to set up clinical pathways.Undertaking appropriate clinical work under the supervision of a Clinical assessments alongside the clinical psychologists observing older people at home and in care settings, structured information gathering from older people/relatives/carers/care staff including life histories using service participation in multidisciplinary case discussion and formulation meetings.Involvement in development of policies and project workData gathering for audit and research purposes link.Training and an exciting time to join the team as we continue to grow and develop to deliver a high-quality mental health service for older people in the Great Yarmouth area. The successful applicant will join our professional and friendly multidisciplinary team. NSFT is passionate about promoting good mental health and is dedicated to the continuing professional development of its staff. Our service consists of a Community Mental Health team (CMHT) and a Memory Assessment and Treatment Service (MATS) which cover the Great Yarmouth area. We also have strong links with our sister Team in Waveney which also consists of a CMHT and MATS service. It is expected that the post holder will be based at Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth, although there are likely to be opportunities to work with other Teams within Older people Services.

The team consists of qualified and trainee nurses, psychologist, psychiatrist, administration and assistant practitioner/support workers. The team work collaboratively to support recovery including living well with dementia.

The post holder will need to be confident in completing assessments, running groups and delivering mental health interventions in person. They will also be required to support and work collaboratively with our colleagues within the CMHT and MATs service along with and the other organisations and allied teams in our care group.

Qualifications

Essential

Masters Clinical Associate in Psychology qualification Registered on the BPS Wider Psychological Workforce register as an Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP)

Experience

Essential

Relevant supervised experience of delivering psychological assessments and interventions in [setting/service user group relevant to their specific scope of practice] Experience of working in a setting with Service Users presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties

Personal Qulaities

Essential

Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Awareness of their own competence and expertise and work within those boundaries.
