Job summary

We are advertising for an Assistant Psychologist post working ( WTE) in Older Adult Mental Health for six months which we hope to extend.

The post will involve travel across the county so you would need access to a car and have some experience of working with older adults and facilitating group.

This is an exciting role which supports the service in a range of tasks, including helping facilitate and evaluate groups, including a patient and carer forum, as well as preparing training materials. The person would also be involved in supporting the use of the life stories digital platform and there would be opportunities under training and supervision to complete psychometric assessment to support the diagnosis of dementia. In addition, the successful applicant would be involved in summarising and evaluating the evidence base for new service developments as well as undertaking clinical audits.

Main duties of the job

Helping facilitate and evaluate support or therapeutic groups

Preparing materials for groups, booking rooms

Completing literature reviews

Completing neuropsychological assessments

Audit, data entry and sending out correspondence

Liaising with voluntary sector, care home and PCN colleagues
