Training Officer - Childcare, Lewis (9528)

30 hours per week term time, Fixed term to 30 June 2025

£22,774 to £24,679 per annum (inclusive of £1,921 Distant Islands Allowance per annum)

The Training Officer will have responsibility for the organisation, administration and delivery of Scottish Qualification’s for whom the Comhairle are approved to deliver.

This post will support participants to meet the accreditation requirements of a registered service.

The Training Officer will manage the accreditation and quality assurance of all Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) awards delivered within the Approved Centre and co-ordinate, support, develop, implement and monitor all training, learning, assessment and verification in relation to these awards.

Gaelic is essential for this post.

You will be educated to SVQ Level 3 in a related Childcare discipline with at least two years' experience working in a Human Resources, a Care Environment or Youth Work.

It is essential that you have good organisational skills, the ability to work on own initiative, excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. You will have knowledge of all aspects of the delivery of training programmes and good working knowledge of educational structures and evidence/theory requirements of accredited training programmes. You must have excellent presentation, negotiation and networking skills, with the ability to present complex information in an understandable format.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults and Children.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression.
