Role Overview:

We are seeking an empathetic and proactive ADHD Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work closely with students diagnosed with ADHD, providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential in both academic and social aspects of school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ADHD, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Management Plans (BMPs).
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt and differentiate lesson plans to meet the needs of students with ADHD.
  • Support students in developing organizational skills, time management, and strategies to stay focused and engaged.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Promote an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ADHD, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students with ADHD.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
