Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant Position Available in Chorlton

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Chorlton. This full-time position starts ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will utilize your expertise in subjects such as history, geography, or social studies to support students’ learning and development. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Providing one-on-one and small group support to students to enhance their understanding of humanities subjects.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, helping with classroom management, and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Curriculum Support: Supporting the planning and preparation of humanities lessons, including preparing resources and materials.
  • Academic Mentoring: Acting as a mentor for students, offering guidance and academic support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Assisting with or leading extra-curricular activities and clubs related to humanities subjects.
  • Administrative Tasks: Helping with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, grading assignments, and tracking student progress.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Pastoral Care: Building strong, supportive relationships with students to help promote their overall well-being and academic success.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a humanities subject such as history, geography, social studies, or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • An empathetic and patient approach to working with students.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to addressing the needs of students.
  • Previous experience working with young people, particularly in an educational setting, is desirable but not essential.
