WHAT TO EXPECT

Join our Product Enablement team and work at the forefront of innovation by fulfilling the role of a Senior Packaging Development Engineer. 

The Product Enablement team are a key enabler in the successful Import and Export Operations delivery, of new vehicle programme launches across the global business, ensuring the operational readiness of Trading Division to deliver vehicle parts Globally in support of the launch cadence and for each vehicle build phase.

As part of the multi-disciplined Product Enablement team, you will bring your unique talents to lead activities associated to packaging development for automotive parts supply for new vehicle and propulsion Programmes.

Lead packaging development activities in support of New Product Introductions / Build timing. Application of the JLR packaging standards. Provision of part data, specifications and CAD data to packaging suppliers through the JLR Engineering teams. Engage with stakeholders to ensure packaging suitability and buy-off with respect to cost, quality, safety, operational efficiency and sustainability. Organise / support packaging trials. Coordinate arrangements to enable initial funding and order coverage. Support quality investigations where packaging design may be a cause of damage and, lead corrective actions.

Essential:

Extensive experience in Packaging Development. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to apply analytical rigour to develop and drive well thought out packaging development plans.  Ability to build and support effective teams that leverage different skill sets and perspectives. Proficient in MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
