Job summary

We have a Qualified Inpatient Nursing Associate Post for Chartwell Ward.

Chartwell ward is a busy acute mental health ward supporting people experiencing mental illness who cannot safely be supported at home.

You will support the team by keeping the clinical environment safe, working with patients to plan and map out their recovery, care holistically for them, as well as implementing standards from safe wards.

On starting your new position, if newly qualified, you will join the Preceptorship Action Learning Set and Acute Preceptorship programme. There will also be opportunities to develop your competencies and career which can include a pathway to become a registered nurse. We work closely with two Universities to offer this.

Main duties of the job

The Nursing Associate brings a variety of mental health and physical heath nursing skills to the team, working independently under the leadership of registered nurses, providing and delivering all aspects of the nursing care. As a Band 4 Nursing Associate, you will be supported to develop your nursing skills and participate in delivering nursing interventions in the MDT.

The Nursing Associate will have a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of the registered nurses (Band 5 or above), working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
