What we’re looking for...

AG Barr are looking for a passionate and driven Senior Category Development Manager to cover a period of maternity leave on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Working within the Sales Team structure, the Category team’s role is to deliver compelling category insights that deliver on our category vision and business priorities to drive incremental growth in the UK soft drinks market within our customers; and to provide shopper, customer & category insight internally to enable effective planning & execution.

As Senior Category Development Manager your responsibilities will include;

  • Work with the Category Controller, sales team & commercial team to execute a best in class category strategy in our customers
  • Build strong category relationships to influence key ranging and merchandising decisions to drive growth for our customers and our business
  • To turn category insights into compelling, action orientated sells, presented with passion to our customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide insight internally to the brand hubs to ensure plans are relevant & appropriate to our customers & shoppers whilst maximising on key shopper trends
  • Execute the category vision & annual channel strategies to grow both the category and AG Barr’s share within it.
  • Support the development & launch of AG Barr innovation into the category
  • Take a multichannel approach to deliver the right range, right place at the right time.
  • Manage risks & identifying opportunities to deliver new distribution and protect existing distribution in our customers

What you’ll bring…

The successful candidate will have;

  • Ideally educated to degree level in a Business related degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an FMCG company within a Category team
  • Broad knowledge of the FMCG market across key channels including Mults, Wholesale, Discounters & Online
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Strong understanding and experience of using market data sources such as Circana & Kantar, with the ability to retrieve data and get to the insights quickly and effectively
  • Ability to bring data and insights to life in a creative and engaging way.
