About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to join our Global Technology Services team at William Grant & Sons. As a key member of our technology team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of our web applications, ensuring high-quality code, and guiding the technical direction of the project.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical architecture and development of web applications with the Technical Architects and Solution Engineers using TypeScript, Headless/MACH architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, marketing, and other developers, to define requirements and deliver features.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Perform code reviews to maintain code quality, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with architectural guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending adoption of new tools and techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Software Development Manager or Senior Developer in web application development projects.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, with a deep understanding of its ecosystem and best practices.
  • Experience with modern web development technologies, such as React, GraphQL, and Headless/MACH architecture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) is preferred.
