The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Providing tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can participate fully in school activities.
  • Individual and Group Interventions: Delivering one-on-one and small group interventions to address specific learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, and social-emotional needs.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assisting the classroom teacher in implementing differentiated learning activities, managing classroom behavior, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Resource Preparation: Preparing and adapting teaching materials and resources to meet the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Keeping detailed records of student progress, identifying areas where additional support is needed, and communicating with teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents.
  • Personal Care: Providing personal care and assistance to students with physical disabilities or medical needs, as required.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure the effective delivery of support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality within the school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs is advantageous but not essential.
