We have a new opportunity for an Customs Administrator to join our Customs team, here in our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool, L24.
This is 5 days, permanent and full time (39 hours) although will you will need to be available to work 1 Sunday in every 6 on a rota basis with the day off back in lieu during that week.
We are fully office-based and very much a team that works in collaboration.
As a Customs Administrator, you will play a key role in providing effective & efficient support in our Customs department. To be successful, it is essential that you can work at pace, have excellent administration skills and an eye for detail.
The Key Accountabilities in the role are:
Work in close contact with all DC contacts to cross check all documents & process for clearance Highlight issues/errors/missing documents to buyers Complete EHC documentation for France & Ireland Knowledge of HMRC procedures and ability to learn new procedures through the interpretation of HMRC guidance Able to classify products using trade tariff Experience using the trade tariff to ascertain documentary requirements / duty rates for a range of productsThe Skills/Experience required are:
Experience in a Customs environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given Excellent Microsoft Excel & Word skills – customs Good numeracy skills Able to work at pace with accuracy Great attention to detail and able to work on own initiative Ability to work under pressure & good time management Able to build strong internal relationships with various departments of the businessWe also offer you a range of great benefits including discount in our stores, free parking for all colleagues in our Support Centre, colleague portal offering additional discount for retailers, hospitality & much more
