A Day in the Life…

Our Head of Quality is looking for a passionate and organized Quality Assurance Manager to join her small but ambitious team. We believe in providing furry friends with the best possible support for a long and healthy life and as such outsource our manufacturing and testing to ensure the highest quality standards. Your role will be to oversee the entire quality process for our pet health/feed supplements, establishing and maintaining quality control procedures in accordance with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire quality process for our pet health/feed supplements
  • manage relationships with contract manufacturers (CMs) and contract testing labs (CTLs) to ensure they adhere to Petlab’s specifications and cGMP.
  • Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from CM and/or CTLs to verify the quality of raw materials and finished products, including potency and purity.
  • Focuses on ensuring the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and meeting quality objectives.
  • Conduct audits of CMs to ensure they adhere to our quality standards and cGMP compliance.
  • Evaluates and qualifies potential CMs and testing labs.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product quality issues related to raw materials, finished products, or manufacturing processes.
  • manage and investigate customer complaints related to product quality and product safety.
  • Implement and maintain a system for adverse event reporting and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) specific to pet health supplements.
  • Manage and maintain quality assurance documentation, including procedures, records, and reports.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to all QA activities, including SOPs, audit reports, and CAPA (Corrective Action & Preventative Action) plans.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., New Product Development, Compliance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Care, etc.) on quality-related matters.
  • Manage and develop the Quality Assurance team (if applicable).

Requirements

What we need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, ideally within the FMCG/CPG/Food nutraceutical or animal health industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in science (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field) or relevant experience .
  • Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and quality control principles.  HACCP level 3+ preferred.
  • Experience with conducting audits of contract manufacturers preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with quality management software a plus.
