We have an exciting opportunity for a Heating Engineer to join our expanding field-based team. In the role, you'll be responsible for supporting our customers in heating their homes in a greener way, through installations of our Midea air source heat pumps.

At Good Energy our installation teams are passionate about delivering the highest standard of quality for our customers, outstanding workmanship as well as safe and compliant install. We're all about ensuring that our customers receive the highest levels of service, to support them in revolutionising the way they heat their home.

Day to day during installs your team will consist of an Electrician and a Trainee Heating Engineer, who will you will work closely with. You'll be responsible for providing training and guidance to support our Trainee's in developing their skillset and capability.

Key responsibilities
  • You'll lead as a heating installations expert, delivering and demonstrating quality technical expertise to install our Midea heat pumps.
  • You'll work in close collaboration with the electrical engineers, ensuring customers heating systems are installed safely, on time and to a high standard of workmanship.
  • You'll deliver high SHE standards to keep yourself, our customers and colleagues safe.
  • You'll thrive when continually developing yourself technically and maintaining your industry and onsite knowledge to keep health, safety and compliance at the top of your priorities.  
  • You'll continuously demonstrate the drive to improve in safety, efficiency and quality.
  • Effectively manage stakeholder relationships and collaborate with all other teams to ensure outstanding customer service that is seamless.
  • You'll be flexible and open to change in a fast paced and evolving business.
  • As a proactive problem solver with a can-do attitude, you'll have a drive to do what’s best and what’s right for both the customer and the business.

What you'll need to succeedWe're looking for a driven and talented Heating Engineer to join our like minded team of installers. You'll have extensive experience of working with heating systems, although you may not have had any experience of working directly with heat pumps, you'll have a passion and desire to learn and develop your skillset here.

You'll be an excellent communicator, confident in speaking to customers and explaining how the heating system works, as well as answering any queries they may have. As a problem solver, and an experienced installer, you'll be confident when overcoming issues for our customers, and ensuring a safe and outstanding service.

Essentials: 
  • NVQ level 3 or similar in plumbing, heating or engineering  
  • Unvented hot water systems  
  • Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) 
  • Broad health and safety experience  
  • A current full UK driving license  
 Desirables: 
  • Oil experience  
  • LPG experience  
  • Renewables experience  
  • Water regulations  
  • Energy efficiency  
  • Experience and understanding of MCS Regulations  
  • Domestic Heat pump level 3 in installation and maintenance
