Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist to jointhe team at Quakers Lane Surgery. The successful candidate will ensure aneffective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and visitorsto the practice, both face to face and over the telephone.

25 hours per week over 3 days.

We would also require holiday andsickness cover, this could result in working over 5 days depending on practicedemand.

Immediate start would be consiudered for the right applicant.

Main duties of the job

To meet and greet patients, members of the publicand visitors to the practice in a friendly and courteous manner.

Answering general enquiries, explaining surgeryprocedures, making new and follow-up appointments and receiving requests forrepeat prescriptions and signposting patients.

Receiving and recording requests for home visits

Complete surgery lists and extract patient noteswhen required.

Filing and scanning of medical notes, letters, testresults and other correspondence

Registering of new patients on the computer system

Ensuring that the reception area is left tidy andready for use by incoming colleagues, together with information about anyunresolved or urgent matters.

Assisting the closing and securing of the buildingat the end of the working day

Comply with all in house and statutory Health &Safety procedures.

Attend training courses in house and externally todevelop expertise and further knowledge.

Attend Practice Meetings. Any duty thatmay be properly deemed by the Practice Manager or Doctors to be part of therole of receptionist.

It is important that all members of staff areprepared to take on additional duties or relinquish existing duties in order tomaintain efficient running of the practice. The Practice manager andDoctors reserve the right to re-distribute duties and functions amongst membersof staff from time to time and requests for such changes shall not bereasonably refused.

About us

We are a successful practice with a list sizeof around 6,500 patients. We have 4 partners and 1 salaried doctor. We are adispensing practice that works on SystmOne.

Job responsibilities

1.Tomeet and greet patients, members of the public and visitors to the practice ina friendly and courteous manner.

2.Todirect patients to the appropriate professional, known as signposting.
