DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive People Manager to join our team. 

As People Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a positive and thriving working environment, ensuring the long-term success of the business. You will be a key player in ensuring that Receptional remains an employer of choice, committed to the growth, development, and well-being of its diverse and talented workforce. Your responsibilities will span various areas of HR, including talent acquisition and retention, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, company culture, and office management.  Collaboration is at the heart of this role, requiring close coordination with the Senior Leadership Team, Head of Departments, and line managers. Additionally, you will leverage your in-depth understanding of HR tools, legislative requirements, and strategic data insights to contribute to the overall success of the People function, shaping and implementing effective policies and processes that resonate with Receptionals’ culture.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead, Manage & Accountability:
  • Manage the People Team in carrying out their duties to the best of their ability, providing support, coaching, and training to grow their skills and capabilities.
  • Assisting the Head of Operations in the development of the HR strategy and plan for any projects or initiatives that may arise as part of the annual planning process and the 3-year business plan.
  • Undertake personal development in line with the requirements of the role, ensuring that you remain up-to-date with any legislative changes that may affect the business
  • Continuously upskilling proficiency in HR technologies and data analytics tools to analyze workforce trends, enhance decision-making, and improve HR processes.
  • Exploring new tools and technologies, such as advancements in AI to optimise the People Department function.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is kept up to date, and that all staff are trained in the relevant areas, directing the People Team to act as required.
  • Adherence to Receptionals’ Leadership Charter; embodying excellence, innovation, ethical conduct, client satisfaction, diversity, and supportive workplace culture, while promoting the company values across all levels of leadership and the wider business
 People Strategy:
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to create and maintain a high-performance culture, with strong employee engagement, aligned with our company values
  • Implementation of a well-defined People strategy that aligns with organisational goals and fosters a culture of continuous growth, empowerment, and innovation, ensuring that each employee feels valued, understood, and motivated to contribute to the collective success of the company.
  • Developing data-led reporting that drives strategic insights and improvements across the wider business

Employee Relations:
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, maintaining an open-door policy.
  • Address employee issues, conflicts, and grievances, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
  • Mediate disputes between employees and facilitate constructive discussions.
  • Develop and maintain clear procedures for reporting and addressing grievances.
 Talent Acquisition Strategy:
  • Development and implementation of a talent acquisition strategy. Developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely recruitment of top talent, in coordination with the Recruitment Executive
  • Working with the Head of Operations to identify, explore, and develop partnerships with outside organisations/agencies to enhance our talent pool, and streamline hiring efforts.
  • Working with Marketing to design and implement a comprehensive recruitment marketing strategy that leverages social media and digital platforms to enhance our employer brand and attract a diverse pool of candidates.
  • Establishing and refining recruitment processes and policies to ensure they are transparent and equitable, attract a wide range of diverse candidates, and are aligned with our organisational values and legal requirements.
  • Promote the company’s commitment to DEI in the workplace
  Onboarding & Performance Management:
  • Overseeing the effective implementation and delivery of both the Onboarding/Offboarding and New Starter Induction strategy and process; making improvements as required.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of a performance management process. Working closely with line managers and employees to ensure its effective use 
  • Provide support and counsel for difficult conversations ensuring that performance or conduct concerns are addressed quickly, respectfully, and effectively.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of both the culture and reward and recognition strategies to ensure that Receptional is not only a great place to work but also one where high performance is recognised and celebrated. 
 HR Process & Policies:
  • Regularly review policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with any changes in legislation, and that they are fully embedded within the day-to-day working of the business. 
  • Conducting regular pay and benefits benchmarking reviews. Making suggestions and recommendations to the board to maintain Receptionals’ strong position within the marketplace
  Office Management & IT:
  • Oversee health & safety, well-being initiatives, contract management, and general administration
  Learning & Development Strategy:
  • Work with the Learning & Development Coordinator to oversee the defining and implementation of the company's learning and development strategy, championing career development, training, and a coaching culture across the business.
  • Overseeing the succession planning process to identify and proactively plan to mitigate resource risk Identify key talent, support and monitor the training and development of potential successors.
 

Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseEssential Skills:
  • A proven track record of working within the fields of HR or Recruitment 
  • Previous experience in managing a team with the ability to lead, mentor, and manage effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and align HR initiatives with overall business objectives
  • A strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Previous experience in the design and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures 
  • Experience in managing change initiatives and ensuring smooth transitions for employees.
  • Experience in developing initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Experience in the design and implementation of effective recruitment and talent management strategies, with a focus on diversity and inclusion 
  • Experience in the design and implementation of Performance Management and Learning & Development strategies. 
  • Strong conflict resolution, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
