About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Counsellor to join our team in Bedford, providing a high-quality and effective therapeutic service to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional counselling services to young people in line with Relate's service specification and safeguarding policies.
  • Report directly to the National Operations Manager to ensure high clinical quality and safe, secure, and professional service delivery.
  • Assist the Operations Office Manager in providing services in Wiltshire and Somerset, aligning with the charity's strategic direction.
  • Evaluate the service and contribute to reports for commissioners and funders as required.
Main Duties
  • Maintain accurate records of client casework and personal work schedule.
  • Check personal daily schedule and client list using Relate's computerized database system.
  • Provide timely updates via email to the Appointments Manager after counselling sessions.
  • Assist the Operations Office Manager with feedback and input into contracts negotiated for service delivery.
  • Undertake tasks as requested by the Operations Office Manager.
Casework Management
  • Report directly to the National Operations Manager and attend line management meetings and appraisals.
  • Attend monthly individual supervision with a Relate supervisor and monthly group supervision with the Clinical Supervisor for Children & Young People.
  • Assist with client complaint investigation.
Administration and Finance
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of the charity's performance and help produce reports for funding bids.
  • Adhere to Relate's financial systems for accountability and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Liaise with the Regional Operations Manager and Clinical Supervisor (Young People) regarding complaints.
