The Friends was established in 2011 to raise funds for the preservation of the Hospital of St Cross as a living Almshouse, and a leading visitor attraction in Winchester


The Chairman of the Friends will stand down in May 2026.


The Trustees wish to appoint a Trustee in 2025 with a view to this person assuming the Chairmanship.


The Friends solicits memberships (at present we have 750 members) and organises fund-raising events to fulfil its objectives. £210.000 in grants has been given to the Hospital.


This is a voluntary position which requires regular attendance at meetings and activities at the Hospital site in St Cross
