Support Governance in Schools

As an Administrative Support Officer for Governance, you will provide vital administrative support to our schools across Hampshire. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will give you the opportunity to support Governors and Trustees across a range of schools to deliver the best outcomes for their pupils.

You will administer and minute board and committee meetings, which are mainly held in the evening, and advise on governance legislation and policy following appropriate training. This role is home-based with the flexibility to complete clerking tasks around your existing commitments. There is a requirement to travel to the school/s to which you are assigned to clerk their governance meetings.

We offer a comprehensive training programme, mentoring for your first few months in post and ongoing support from the Clerking Team. The contract will be for approximately 136 hours per annum but once you are established in the role, there will be opportunities to greatly increase your working hours to make this a significant part-time post.

This role is subject to a Criminal Records Check. As such, and as per safer recruitment requirements for Children's Services, references will be requested prior to interview.

Hampshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. No applicant or employee will receive less favourable treatment because of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage or civil partnership and pregnancy or maternity, unless a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) applies.
