Marketplaces and Shopify are important channels for brands, retailers and SME's to drive awareness, incremental sales and customer acquisition. Brands and retailers often lack operational and technical agility to manage direct consumer e-fulfilment in-house across multiple channels and the traditional 3PL model is not always well suited to the nuanced needs of marketplace and shopify fulfilment, impeding the ability of brands and retailers to take full advantage of the sales opportunity.


Warehow is a team of marketplace and shopify specialists providing multi-channel fulfilment mostly to fashion and small home brands and retailers through a network of technology enabled warehouses in the UK. We’re an authentic, passionate team dedicated to providing flexibility, agility and quality to our clients.

MAIN PURPOSE


Responsible for leading and delivering the targeted outreach and successful contractual engagement of suitable new business clients in line with both the Warehow strategy and the customer acquisition and revenue objectives.


As the business grows taking ownership of building, managing, and developing a successful and results driven business development team of highly motivated self-starting colleagues who will represent Warehow’s market offer professionally and with passion, and who whilst pushing hard to achieve personal targets will be primarily driven by team success.


Providing support as required to the wider senior management team and working collaboratively with the marketing team to ensure a joined-up approach to promoting and marketing the Warehow offer.


KEY RESULT AREAS


  • Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients and new partnerships, both individually and through the wider team effectively pitching Warehow services to both new and existing clients
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to ensure that the general marketing approach optimises profitable business growth and creating strategies to successfully engage with new business opportunities.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s services, the competition in the industry and our positioning
  • Building relationships with potential new clients, understanding their needs, and developing proposals to address these needs whilst maintaining Warehow profitability and ensuring that warehouse operational practices are not compromised.
  • Attending relevant industry conferences and events to build relationships with partners and clients and staying up to date with new trends.
  • Supporting the finance team in creating sales forecasts and then leading the business development team to reach and exceed these goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring that forecast deliverables and operational costs associated with all aspects of the business development and sales operation within your remit are in line with budgets.
  • Analysing and reporting on key opportunities and challenges to senior management.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day planning and running of the business development team, the use of the CRM, and ensuring that pipeline metrics accurately report business opportunities in a realistic and tangible format.
  • Building, managing, developing, and training a successful and results driven business development team that grows in line with the wider business plan.
  • Ensuring that all business development and sales related training is undertaken and recorded, and individuals are provided with the right skills to carry out their roles.
  • Operating within the confines of all policies and procedures as defined by the business and senior management.


STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT


  • Primarily interacting with senior management, the business development team, the marketing team, and management colleagues within the warehouse operations.
  • Attending board meetings as required in relation to business development and interacting with current and potential new investors on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Liaising with all potential new clients and existing clients to positively represent the business.
  • Liaising with all internal support functions as appropriate to ensure the effectiveness of new client onboarding.
  • Being an ambassador for the company when hosting visits from potential or existing clients, or when attending conferences or events in a professional capacity.
