Are you an experienced public cloud professional on the hunt for an exciting new role?

Shared Services Connected Limited are recruiting for senior level Cloud professional well versed in platforms such as: Oracle Cloud, MS Azure and AWS. This Lead Cloud Engineer role will see you spearheading the technical operation, development and optimisation of cloud-based systems. While the key aspect of the role will be implementing scalable solutions using OCI, Azure and AWS, this being a lead role, you will also be using your vast experience to oversee and mentor junior members of the engineering teams. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-level architecture and practical engineering operations. This is an excellent role for senior engineers wanting to take their career to the next level

This role will be predominantly based from home with very occasional travel to one of our offices.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead a team of engineers in the integration and operational deployment of cloud technologies, focusing on practical application and troubleshooting.
  • Lead and guide the engineering of comprehensive cloud solutions that meet business needs, ensuring alignment with broader architectural principles.
  • Champion the implementation of high-availability and scalable systems across multiple cloud platforms, proactively addressing potential risks and ensuring system robustness.
  • Coordinate the technical documentation process, including the development of architectural outlines as needed by the project teams. Lead the evaluation of project impacts and feasibility to support decision-making.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms (OCI, Azure, AWS) in an engineering capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage complex cloud deployments effectively.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects that satisfy both technical and business requirements.

It would be great if you had:
  • Experience with cloud security practices, ensuring automation solutions adhere to the NCSC best practice security standards.
  • Proficiency in containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for efficient deployment and management of applications.
