Job Purpose

As the Sales Director, you will lead our sales performance and account management strategy within F+R's wealth management segment.


Accountable for the continuous development of the team managing and growing F+R’s most valuable clients as the single most important driver of market growth. Ownership for leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of sales executives in the UK market. You will be confident in providing robust and timely sales and product reporting and market insight to senior management.

This role will collaborate closely with local management heads and C-suite executives to drive growth and excellence across our global operations. Upholding and driving F+R brand values is paramount.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture a high-performance sales culture that motivates and drives the team to exceed targets.
  • Retain, reactivate, and acquire customers through initiatives and a qualitative approach to service and communication.
  • Implement best practices and innovative sales strategies to achieve competitive advantage.
  • Design and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and enhance service levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Regularly review and refine KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives and market trends.
  • Foster positive and productive relationships across different functions within the organization to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to improve inter-departmental processes and communication. Provide regular, insightful reports to the C-suite, detailing sales performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the sales team and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with finance and other departments to develop and manage annual sales budgets.
  • Ensure that sales operations are within budget and optimize resource allocation to maximize ROI.
  • Set and enforce clear, high standards for customer service to ensure an exceptional client experience.
  • Regularly review service standards and make necessary adjustments to meet evolving customer expectations.


Knowledge, Skills + Expertise

  • Extensive track record of developing and leading a high-performing sales team within a global luxury retail environment alongside managing your own sales target (preferably in the fine wine industry).
  • Passionate, energetic leader with an enthusiastic and engaging approach to delivering success.
  • Commercially astute and confident in providing forecasts, budgets, and comprehensive reporting to the leadership and C-Suite teams.
  • Solutions-driven approach to solving issues and problems.
  • Strong commercial communicator, transparent, and understands the importance of quality reporting and managing upwards.
  • Strong analytical skills, confident in running reports, translating data, and providing insights to make business-critical decisions.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing key client relationships, as well as demonstrating strong commercial performance over the long term.
  • Exceptional communications skills, both internally and externally, with clients at all levels.
  • The ability to work in a fluid and fast-paced environment and able to handle change and work to tight deadlines.
  • Driven and ambitious individual who is motivated by achieving outstanding results.
  • Proven experience in developing sales processes, CRM management, and achieving targets.
  • Good working knowledge of using CRM systems (preferably HubSpot).
  • Extensive product knowledge and market experience in fine wine, with WSET level 4 or above.
