Waste and Recycling Adviser/Officer
Starting salary between £25,284 and £31,581 depending on level you are qualified for
Initially 9-month temporary contract.
Based at King’s Lynn Depot
We have an opportunity for you to join and support our Waste and Recycling team providing maternity cover. This opportunity is open to you if you have current waste management experience and would like to develop further at the Advisor level or if you have full qualifications and enforcement experience you will be appointed to the Officer level.
You will effectively manage the relationship the Council has with the most rural communities including Parish Councils, Borough Councillors and the public promoting the best options for managing waste. You will ensure the successful management, promotion, and publication of the waste collection service. You will also work on how the Council can improve trade waste management.
Educated to GCSE level or with the equivalent experience, you will have gained waste management experience. This will include a knowledge of scheduling work programmes; Health and Safety requirements; and of materials which are appropriate for recycling, including schemes and processes used in west Norfolk. You will have clear communication skills including the ability to confidently talk at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English and be able to plan your work workload in a busy office environment.
