  • You’ll be working with the Head of Commercial & Institutional Banking (C&I) Strategy to develop the vision and approach for our C&I franchise
  • We’ll look to you to shape the priorities of the business across customers, products, innovation, and our operating model
  • As a senior member of our team, you’ll work on our franchise’s most challenging questions and can expect great visibility for you and your work

What you'll do

As a C&I Strategy Lead, you’ll work directly with our business leaders to define, drive, and oversee the delivery of strategic initiatives that deliver growth for our business, as well as better customer outcomes and sustainable returns for our shareholders. You’ll proactively identify and evaluate customer and market opportunities to increase effectiveness and profitability of the products and services we deliver for our customers.

Day-to-day, you’ll also be:

  • Providing advice, insight, and direction to senior stakeholders across C&I on key strategic questions
  • Developing strategic recommendations for executive and board audiences
  • Translating strategic objectives into measurable outcomes to support benefits realisation
  • Keeping an up-to-date view of our competitors and market trends and proactively identifying strategic implications for our business
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the business, functions, and other areas of the bank to ensure our objectives are aligned to the wider NatWest Group strategy
  • Providing leadership and direction and helping junior colleagues in the team to develop and grow in their roles

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for a strong leader with demonstrable expertise in Commercial & Institutional Banking and its regulatory and commercial environments. You’ll have the insight to understand the impact of decisions on financial performance, costs, and risks in order to make sound decisions and recommendations, along with the ability to perform under pressure.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • A broad and deep understanding of C&I, its competitive dynamics, customer needs, trends, products, and regulatory environment
  • Extensive professional experience gained in an in-house strategy, management consulting, or equivalent role
  • The demonstrated ability to build relationships and act as a trusted advisor to a range of senior stakeholders and work professionally with multiple teams to drive change
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information and ideas, succinctly and with clarity, to executive and board audiences
  • The ability to motivate and coach others to drive business performance
