SATVA TRUST is an innovative technology firm providing independent fuel use/carbon emissions performance data, benchmarks and predictive data analytics in the global commercial shipping, marine lending, and insurance markets.


Our proprietary tech solution is uniquely positioned in tracking, validating and verifying fuel/emissions performance of the entire world’s fleet, evaluating carbon intensity of banks and insurers’ client portfolios, and developing new lending and insurance product strategies.

With the scheduled platform launch in October and client traction already building, we are ready to lead from the front in bringing a unique alternative solution to a rapidly growing decarbonisation data market space.


What is the role?


As Business Development Lead you'll play a pivotal role in our mission-driven journey.


Your mandate is to drive revenue and new business and deepen wallet share with ship finance providers. The primary focus is on the shipping divisions of top ship finance banks, with a secondary focus on non-traditional sources of ship finance.


As a member of the Executive team, reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will include:


Develop and execute a sales plan for your defined market with an eye toward driving new business and growing revenue in accordance with company goals and personal KPIs.


Leverage your market leading capacity to develop and capitalize on existing and new relationships, maximize bespoke pricing efficiency, negotiate contracts, and collaborate across the team - to facilitate business growth.


Work closely with CTO and COO to understand the nuances of the products, the product development process and Satva Trust’s platform capabilities.


Maintain strong knowledge base of the shipping industry and of Satva Trust’s technology capabilities and value proposition.


What will you likely already have achieved?


  • You've had a successful sales career (min 8 -10 years) in the financial services, banking and/or fintech industries. With a passion for technology, you will want to bring that into a financial services/ship finance environment where you can impact real and positive change.
  • Have a proven track record of engaging and closing commercial deals with banks and/or alternative financing companies (ship finance is an advantage). With a passion for the customer as well as the benefits great technological solutions can bring, you will want to bring these two pieces together, into a role and team that you can help to shape from the ground up.
  • An Entrepreneur with a passion for complex problems you will thrive in simplifying them and taking them to a new customer base. Experience in the chaotic world of a startup is a plus.


Location + Travel: This is a remote position that will occasionally require physical team meetings in London. Candidate is preferably physically based in London, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Europe or the UAE + travel to customers (International) estimated 30% of time.


Salary: £70,000 + competitive commission based on deal closures (package make up negotiable, so prefer to discuss with the right person)
