About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Sales and Events Manager to lead the Meeting & Events Sales department at a prestigious London hotel. This pivotal role requires a strategic leader who can drive revenue, maximize profit, and uphold operational excellence while motivating a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership and Motivation:

  • Lead and inspire the team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve departmental and hotel-wide objectives.
  • Cultivate a sales-driven culture, encouraging the team to identify and capitalize on all sales opportunities.

2. Client and Event Management:

  • Coordinate and conduct site visits and show rounds for potential clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive client records, ensuring all relevant departments are informed of client needs.
  • Ensure that all enquiries are handled promptly and professionally in line with Accor standards.

3. Sales and Revenue Strategy:

  • Develop and communicate clear sales and revenue strategies to address varying demand levels.
  • Collaborate with F&B, Sales, and Revenue Management to optimize meeting space utilization.

4. Financial Management:

  • Ensure the team is aligned with performance metrics, budget goals, and forecasts.
  • Set daily and weekly targets, and clearly communicate financial goals to the team.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of top producers, identifying opportunities for improvement or growth.

5. Client Engagement:

  • Actively pursue repeat business by maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Participate in revenue meetings to ensure a holistic approach to maximizing total revenue.
  • Share insights on revenue trends and forecasts, influencing strategic decision-making.

6. System and Process Management:

  • Maintain accurate data within relevant systems, while developing and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor competitor pricing and market trends, providing feedback to the Sales department to maintain competitive positioning.

7. Sales Opportunities:

  • Align sales activities with the hotel's business plan to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Engage in client events and manage conference and promotional offers in line with the overall hotel strategy.

8. Staff Recruitment and Development:

  • Oversee recruitment, induction, and training to ensure the team meets the businesss operational needs.
  • Create and implement tailored training plans for each team member, ensuring continuous development and high performance.

9. Duty Management/Events Management and Planning:

  • Perform Senior Duty Manager shifts once a month, ensuring overall hotel operations run smoothly.
  • Manage online MICE platforms, ensuring accuracy and alignment with promotional strategies.
  • Develop detailed event sheets, coordinate with all departments, and manage external supplier relationships to ensure seamless event execution.

10. Compliance and Standards:

  • Adhere to and enforce the company dress code and appearance standards within the team.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budget management and revenue forecasting.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) systems and online platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure event success.
