Department/Role overview
Working within the cashier team based in Glasgow ensuring timely and accurate processing of all banking transactions, posting of professional costs, processing payments and reconciliation of firm and client bank accounts.
Main responsibilities
- Performance of control checks to ensure SRA Compliance.
- Performance of end of day checks to ensure breaches do not arise.
- Training of all new and current less experienced staff.
- Liaise with the Cashier Supervisor to ensure all daily, weekly and monthly tasks have been performed to schedule.
- Monitor cashflow and advise treasury where necessary of any possible account balance issues.
- Assist and ensure all cashier tasks are performed timeously.
- Assist the Cashier Manager in upcoming projects.
- Liaise with the Cashier Manager on issues that arise.
Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Essential skills and experience
- Strong background experience of working in a cashiering role within legal or similar environment.
- Team player, able to prioritise tasks to reach deadlines, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and flexible to work longer hours when required.
- Strong numeric, analytical and problem solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Good MS Excel skills.
Desired skills and experience
- Experience of working within a large international law practice.
- Excellent knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rule.
- Solas / ILFM qualified
- Knowledge of practice management systems would be beneficial especially 3E.
