The Company:

At Hazlitts, our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the worlds great cities. Civilised surroundings; old-fashioned hospitality; friendly but faultless service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions.

A family run Company with traditional hospitality values, we thrive on being idiosyncratic and welcome like-minded individuals to join our team.

We are fortunate to have colleagues with a genuine passion for service, as well as adaptability, a cheerful disposition and pride in appearance.

We welcome individuality, creativity and enthusiasm.

The role / responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role. You will be on the tools with minimal admin requirements.

Reporting to the Group Maintenance Manager it will be your responsibility to ensure that all daily proactive and reactive maintenance tasks and repairs are carried out in a timely manner, in line with the brands standards, with the minimum disruptions to our business and most importantly our guests.

As Senior Shift Engineer you will need to be able to work under your own supervision and also be able to mentor and supervise junior members of the team with the ability to plan and organise daily tasks. You will be required to deputise for the head of maintenance in their absence.

Complete PPM in accordance with hotel operating procedures.

The eccentric styling of these Georgian properties often requires a creative approach to the task in hand. You should have a passion for period buildings and the experience to overcome the unique challenges that they present. Experience working in buildings of a similar age and grandeur is essential.

Skills:

We are looking for a multi task engineer with an excellent skills base to enable them to competently carry out a range of tasks. This would include painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrics, general repairs and decoration, in addition to daily-weekly-monthly PPMs monitoring and inspections.
