Business Intelligence Developer


Location: Manchester City Centre (Hybrid, once a week)

Salary: £45,000

Overview:

We are seeking multiple experienced Business Intelligence Developers to join our clients growing BI & Analytics team. You’ll be instrumental in developing dashboards and reports that consolidate store and field data, ensuring it’s accessible, actionable, and compliant. This is a hands-on role, ideal for those looking to make a significant impact at the proof-of-concept stage.


Key Responsibilities:


Dashboard & Report Development:

  • Design responsive dashboards (PowerBI) that centralise store and field data.
  • Implement controls for sensitive and compliance-related data.


Data Management:

  • Use Databricks and Azure Data Factory to build and manage enterprise-level datasets.
  • Transform raw warehouse data into actionable formats across multiple business areas.


Team Collaboration:

  • Work with engineers, developers, and business analysts to support daily operations and BAU activities.
  • Gather and apply stakeholder feedback to refine data models.


Data Governance & Compliance:

  • Manage PowerBI capacity, ensuring privacy and compliance controls.
  • Enforce data governance best practices.


Agile & Strategic Input:

  • Contribute to agile development, testing, and optimization.
  • Provide recommendations during the proof-of-concept stage based on user feedback.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with PowerBI/MicroStrategy and dashboard/report creation.
  • Familiarity with managing PowerBI capacity and data governance.
  • Proficiency in Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
  • 2+ years in data engineering, BI, or data governance.
  • Experience with complex data environments and building enterprise-level data models.
  • Background in food/retail, with knowledge of margins, waste, and availability is desirable
