As the company continues to expand, they are seeking a Sales Engineer with a strong focus on the technical.
Job Overview: The Sales Engineer will play a key role in supporting an already well-established region, ensuring the satisfaction of the existing customer base while also seeking new business opportunities when time allows. By leveraging their in-depth technical knowledge of hydraulic systems, the Sales Engineer will deliver customised solutions that meet client needs. This role involves close collaboration with both the engineering and sales teams to ensure smooth project execution, from system design to commissioning. The ideal candidate is technically driven, passionate about hydraulics, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Sales: Serve as a technical advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on hydraulic system designs, component selection, and bespoke solutions.
- Solution Design: Work with customers to understand technical requirements and develop custom hydraulic system solutions.
- Project Management: Oversee the sales cycle from initial consultation through to post-installation, acting as the key point of contact between clients and internal teams.
- Customer Support: Offer technical support throughout the sales and commissioning process, including troubleshooting, field testing, and conducting on-site visits when necessary.
- Market Development: Identify new business opportunities and share insights on market trends and client needs to help shape product and service offerings.
- Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver technical product presentations and demonstrations, highlighting the company’s expertise and unique solutions.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, representing the company at industry events and conferences when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems design, components, and industrial applications.
- Engineering Background: A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field is preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience in hydraulic systems.
- Sales Experience: Whilst preferred, we are open to a very technical individual who would like to move into a customer focused role
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and present complex technical solutions to clients.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Able to work effectively within cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth collaboration between sales, engineering, and project management.
- Global Experience: Previous experience working with international clients or teams is highly advantageous.
- Willingness to Travel: Home based - regular customer visits
