We are delighted to partner with Lancashire County Council to recruit their People Policy Lead.
Lancashire County Council stands as the fourth largest local authority in England, covering a vast geographic area and a diverse range of communities, both urban and rural. As a county council their remit is substantial, varied and complex, but their purpose is simple: they exist to serve the people of Lancashire by working as efficiently and innovatively as possible to deliver four corporate priorities: delivering better services, protecting our environment, supporting economic growth, and caring for the vulnerable.
The Role: People Policy Lead
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive HR professional to join a progressive organisation. Reporting to the Head of People Strategy, the People Policy Lead will play an essential role in shaping the future of Lancashire County Council through the development and implementation of forward-thinking people policies aligned to strategic goals.

- Lead the full lifecycle of people policy development, from conception to implementation, engaging with stakeholders to ensure policies are clearly communicated and effective.
- Collaborate across the People Services function to ensure seamless integration of policy initiatives.
- Undertake comprehensive reviews and development of people policies with a focus on impactful outcomes.
- Provide advisory support to senior leaders, identifying opportunities and challenges in policy development and implementation.
- Use data and insights to inform and validate policy initiatives effectively.
Qualifications and Experience: To be considered, candidates should ideally be CIPD qualified or working towards this certification, with a proven background as an HR generalist and a passion for people policies. Experience in engaging and influencing senior stakeholders is highly desirable.
Joining Lancashire County Council offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a significant organisation with excellent career growth potential and a vibrant people-focused function.
