The Group & Leisure Sales Manager will drive sales performance within their hotel cluster primarily focusing on the Group, Leisure and Tours segments as directed by the Head of Sales. This is a proactive sales role, responsible for maximising revenue opportunities across multiple properties and managing group and leisure sales activities. This role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, maintaining relationships with key clients, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Heeton UK & Europe operates a portfolio of Hilton, IHG, Accor and Heeton Concept branded hotels and a serviced office site. This is the perfect role for someone looking after one large property with the aspiration to develop through a cluster/national role. The role can be based in the Leeds or London office and requires visiting properties.

Your day-to-day

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to attract group and leisure business.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Identify new market opportunities and potential clients in the group and leisure segments.
  • Provide training and mentoring to sales team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review goals, strategies, and performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tour operators, travel agents, and other group/leisure clients.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, site inspections, and property show rounds.
  • Ensure ongoing communication with clients to understand their needs and
  • Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize pricing and maximize revenue.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase occupancy and average daily rate (ADR) for group and leisure segments.
  • Monitor sales performance and adjust tactics to meet or exceed targets.
  • Involvement in RFP both local and national ensuring all stakeholders are consulted during negotiations.
  • Achieve 8 face-to-face appointments per week.
  • Coordinate with sales teams across different properties to ensure a unified approach to group and leisure sales.
  • Manage the sales process from inquiry to booking, ensuring all details are accurately captured and communicated.
  • Work closely with the events and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group bookings.
  • Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of target accounts.
  • Attend any Hotel/brand Team Meetings, Sales Meetings, Sales Blitz and organising FAM trips as requested.
  • Ad hoc reporting as necessary, including data for Head Office.
  • To assist where necessary and follow any reasonable request by management.

What we need from you

To succeed in this role, youll need to be a proactive self-starter who can proactively drive business, maintain or grow market share from existing accounts and deliver any potential new business. There will be a significant reliance on the individual to understand and analyse market data to identify opportunities for new business wins. In addition, the role requires:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Sales Manager achieved within a UK market, focusing on group and leisure segments.
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and negotiation skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) are essential.
  • Experience in Delphi and reservations Systems (Cvent/OnQ) would be highly desirable.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, flexible, and resilient.
  • The ability to represent the hotels, brands, and wider group compellingly to influence new business acquisition.
  • Checking client satisfaction and resolving any issues to ensure repeat business.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Regular office hours with occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate client meetings and events.
