Coordinate all the day to day aspects of the import and export process. including the preparation and approval of documentation associated with the movements of equipment, components, reference samples, semi-finished and finished goods.


  • Oversee and deliver EML’s logistics operation encompassing imports and exports for the UK and the EU.
  • Collaborate with the SCM, CMO and our EU third party distribution center ensure all distribution is in keeping with our overall strategy.
  • Providing directive to the EML Logistics and Warehouse teams for the preparation and completion of orders.
  • Checking of Freight invoices to ensure they are in line with quotes / contracted prices.
  • Identify, source and secure most cost effective method for all exports through an understanding of the customers’ expectations and capabilities of our approved carriers via Air, Sea & Road.
  • Provide 1st line point of contact for all communications in relation to import and export matters.
  • Dealing with customs queries and checking, import entry to ensure duty & taxes are paid correctly
  • Obtaining Chamber of Commerce documents such as ATR, EUR1 and Certificate of Origin as required
  • Navigate government trade tariff tool to correctly assign commodity codes
  • Review Monthly EU customs listing and PVA statement
  • Maintaining Logistics Import & Export logs with real time data.
  • Updating and authoring related SOP's and QRA's in line with regulatory changes and process improvements.
  • The tracking of key exports, communicating any delays with customer and service provider.
  • The planning and despatch of non-commercial shipments to support Regulatory submissions, Engineering trials and other non-commercial activities.
  • Uploading of Serialisation compliance reports. Promote EML’s best practice approach to GDP compliance and risk based decision making Chair/present at key meetings relating to Logistics priorities
  • Track and report Logistics KPI's
  • Work with the whole Supply Chain group to pursue improvement opportunities in our ways of working for distribution.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding cases of damage during transport, recommend & implement CAPAs.
  • Monitor Logistics consumables stock levels and order as required

Skills and Qualifications


  • Demonstrable experience in similar regulated logistics roleExperience in import / export procedures
  • Knowledge and experience using SAP or similar ERP system
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision making
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication links within EML, affiliated organisations and global partners
  • Build and manage relationships with third party Logistics providers and CMO’s
  • Computer literate e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
