WMS Operational Lead

As WMS Operational Lead you’ll have an important part to play leading new business implementation and transition into business as usual alongside your colleagues from other functions.Once transitioned your role will turn into a Continuous Improvementrole, connecting the functional areas.This role will act as the translator between Solutions Design, IT and Operational workstreams for both new business implementations and continuous improvement of existing BY implementations. You will be key in defininghow the operation will run and at a more detailed level and supporting your IT team in defining how this will work in BY.
**WMS Operational Lead Responsibilities include:**:

- Collaborate with Solutions Design, IT and the Customer to design detailed, core operational processes (standardised best practice templates)
- Support the BY WMS team to roll out standardised warehouse templates across the division and define the WMS interfaces and requirements to support the detailed, best practice process design
- Work with the BY WMS team to continually improve the core WMS offering to existing customers and colleagues
- Deliver on-site Train the Trainer BY WMS training ensuring our key ops colleagues are ready to complete UAT and train their teams
- Support the UAT phase through assisting in the creation of scenarios and ensure testing plan, resource requirements and IT considerations are all met
- Ensure all training documentation and SOP’s are trained out to all parties involved including any improvements to process or new processes being introduced
- Manage and mitigate risks across projects, ensuring the benefits are constantly being reviewed and still viable deliverables
- Ensure the completed project is in a stable state to hand across as BAU, has been accepted into service (IT) and that an agreed level of hyper care has been monitored and signed off
- Ensure all documentation, including user guides and test scripts, are maintained and updated
- Proactively use the Unipart Way to explore and promote any initiatives that deliver an improved efficiency and service

**WMS Operational Lead Requirements**:

- Expert in Warehouse Management Systems
- Understanding of version control systems methodologies and experience using solutions
- Resilient and calm under pressure
- Proactive and takes the initiative
- Good IT skills in Microsoft Office and / or Google Suites
- Previous exposure in Supply Chain and/ or Logistics
- Effective interpersonal, management, and communication skills

**Salary**: £70,000 per annum plus car / car allowance
