Senior Operational Excellence Manager

Relationships mean everything to us, and this one is particularly special.You’ll have an important part to play in automotive success that spans nearly 50 years.Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar LandRover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire.The operation will be housed at Jaguar Land Rover’s new Mercia campus, one of the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer.
As a Senior Operational Excellence Practitioner, you will work as part of the Operations team to support the leadership in embedding Operational Excellence and Digital technologies consistently.You will lead, coordinate and deliver Unipart projects, withyour primary focus to deploy Operational Excellence and Digital technologies into operations delivering value to the business and positive outcomes measured through Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery indicators.
**Senior Operational Excellence Manager Responsibilities include:**:

- Manage the Mercia Op Ex Manager and work together to embed OpEx
- Use your automation expertise to support site Senior Leaders and projects
- Use your knowledge of Solution Design to support OpEx projects
- Lead and deliver improvement events to improve SQCD and people capability
- Deliver tangible and validated financial savings through OpEx and Digital delivery
- Use OpEx and UL’s Digital Tools to deliver Right First Time principles into the operations
- Share knowledge and learning of best practice within UL and the wider business
- Act as mentor and coach for the OpEx team
- Support and coach the Senior Leadership team with their personal development accreditation programmes, particularly OpEx elements where applicable

**Senior Operational Excellence Manager Requirements: **
- Experience of delivering Operational Excellence / Lean / Continuous Improvement with data analysis and people engagement to drive tangible results - if you’ve done this in a number of different sectors it would be an advantage (Aerospace, Automotive, Consumer,Defence, Health, Technology)
- Experience of delivering focused improvement events
- Knowledge of the latest warehousing and distribution best practices and emerging concepts and solutions from across the logistics industry
- Experience of coaching and mentoring people
- Track record of influencing internal people and at all levels to drive change
- Excellent communication skills - spoken, written, and presenting
- Minimum of Six Sigma Green Belt - Black Belt certification would be an advantage
- Experience of working with and implementing digital capabilities (particularly RPA, Automation, Cobots and data science technologies; AR/VR, IoT, Big Data, Simulation, Machine Learning etc) would be a big advantage

**Hours**: Full Time, 40 per week
**Salary**: £48,000 per annum plus car / car allowance
