**Job summary**:
This key leadership role requires an exceptional individual to put Business Architecture at the forefront of the Home Office’s digital transformation. We need you to make sure our services work for everyone, by default.

We are passionate here about the Digital, Data and Technology Profession. It helps us attract, train, develop, and retain the people and skills we need. You will be one of our senior Profession leads accountable for the resourcing, practices, and culture of your Business Architecture roles.

A strong influencer, you will play a key role in managing, developing, and supporting DDaT staff across the department. You will also set the direction within your cluster for what good looks like in a large government department ensuring multi-disciplinary product centric ways of working. Working with the Head of Capability and Profession management to ensure the alignment to the strategic direction of the DDaT Profession as a whole.

**To be considered, you will need to successfully complete SC clearance before commencing the role. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

**Job description**:
You will use your leadership experience to coordinate and support Business Architecture community members across the department, and represent your professional community to service teams, stakeholders, and senior management. You will be responsible for building an effective Business Architecture community and ensuring adoption of suitable standards and approaches, with relevant tooling, to support join-up and reuse across the Home Office.

You will also be a central figure in the cross-government Business Architecture community, sharing your experience, ideas and understanding of best practice with colleagues in other departments.

You’ll be in post as Head of Role for 2 years, at which point you will discuss opportunities with your SCS Sponsor and the Head of Capability & Professions, you will then have the option to move to a delivery area, where we will continue your positive impact on our transformation, making the most of what you’ve learned and adding value to Home Office products and services.

This role will require you to use your expertise in Business Architecture to set the strategic direction and advise, lead, and manage teams to deliver government-leading professionalisation and its business change in the Home Office DDaT function and beyond.

This role will focus on building in-house capability of staff and embedding a culture of learning that encourages Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as a priority and brings out the best in everyone who works in DDaT.

Working within the DDaT Profession SMT and collaboratively with the Head of Capability and Profession, as well as other Heads of Role as a multi-disciplinary group will help to reduce silo working, which is a key objective in ensuring teams are united in purpose to achieve joint outcomes and to demonstrate Civil Service best practice

You will be involved in setting the strategy to manage diversity and inclusion, working to build a balanced representation at all levels of the community. You will utilise your industry knowledge to manage and develop your Cluster of Roles for our delivery area to add value to Home Office products and services
