I.t. Helpdesk Assistant

This is a rare opportunity to join a forward thinking team as a permanent **I.T. Helpdesk Assistant**, with a leading business in Dartford.
As the first point of contact for all IT support queries within a well-established SME with over 200 employees in several departments, you will be work with a variety of users to resolve or escalate their technical issues in a prompt and professional manner.
- Handling support of service requests which relate to all technology including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software.
- After identifying the issue, you will talk the user through the required steps to resolve it or escalate to the relevant team as and when necessary, resolving issues using own initiative where possible.
- Update the ticketing system, ensuring the call has been logged and all notes, progress and required actions have been input promptly and accurately.
- Continuously improve knowledge and understanding across the various software and hardware technologies supported by the team.
- Always maintain a strong customer focus and confidentiality.
- Performing routine daily, weekly, monthly checks of systems and servers.
- Update and maintain all data recorded in asset databases and spreadsheets.
- Perform regular hardware and software auditing against asset databases, including spares.
- Ensuring spare hardware is stored and maintained ready for deployment.
- Check and deploy hardware and inspect and deal with returned hardware.
- Perform regular security auditing (network level access) against pre-defined security permissions.
- Liaising with HR and line managers re: new starters and leavers.
- Assisting the IT Department with effective management of IT tools.
**Experience**:
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10.
- Basic knowledge of user administration (Active Directory, AzureAD, Exchange, Office365).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Good understanding of workstation builds and configuration.
- Hardware troubleshooting.
Working hours are 9:00am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday.
