**Job Title**: Head of FP&A

**About the Role**:
Join World of Books Group as our Head of FP&A, a newly created, high-impact role that will shape our long-term financial strategy. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a rare opportunity to build and lead a first-class FP&A function from the ground up, driving performance and enhancing profitability across the business.
You’ll work closely with senior management, analytics, and finance teams to predict and monitor financial performance, ensuring we meet our strategic goals. With significant autonomy, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how we forecast, analyze, and make key business decisions.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Building a High-Impact FP&A Function
- Establish and lead a best-in-class FP&A function, ensuring financial planning aligns with business objectives.
- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing FP&A team.

Ownership of Forecasting & Budgeting
- Full responsibility for all forecasting and budgeting, including:

- Intra-month operational forecasting.
- Monthly cash forecasting.
- Quarterly forecasting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, and covenants).
- Manage reporting timetables, present to leadership, and prepare board papers.

Advanced Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Partner with the Head of Analytics to develop and maintain a data dictionary, ensuring KPI consistency.
- Expand the use of Qlik Sense, delivering training and supporting app design for data-driven decision-making.
- Work with finance and analytics teams to enhance month-end reporting packs and insights.

Performance & Strategic Insights
- Deliver intra-month commentary on key trading areas to ensure strategic objectives are met.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial and non-financial analysis, evaluating investment opportunities and business cases.
- Oversee inventory storage rules, making data-led decisions on warehouse layouts and stock keep times.

Supporting Growth & M&A Opportunities
- Collaborate on business cases for new investments and strategic initiatives.
- Provide financial insight and due diligence support on potential M&A or strategic projects.

**Key Skills & Experience**:

- Proven experience in building and leading FP&A teams.
- Strong track record in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
- Advanced skills in BI tools (Qlik Sense preferred), Excel, and financial modeling.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, influencing senior stakeholders across finance, analytics, and operations.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach—able to simplify complex data into clear insights.
- Experience in inventory and operational finance is a plus.
- Exposure to M&A or strategic finance projects is beneficial.
