**Plant Quality Improver** **Preston Secondment - Full Time** Are you looking for your next challenge? An exciting vacancy has arisen within our Quality team for a Plant Quality Improver to join the team. Reporting directly to the Head of Quality, the main purpose of this role is to ensure our products and processes meet the company’s quality, technical and health & safety standards through collection and analysis of data. To take part in, and actively promote, continuous improvement activities for line side quality. **As a Plant Quality Improver, you will**: - Support the individual areas/ lines to embed quality into each stage of the process - Feedback improvements required in the areas/ lines to address the shortfalls (a "snag" list of fixtures/ poka yokes) - Resolve any non-conforming parts produced, with the line supervisor - Facilitate root cause investigations of issues as they arise, using Kaizen, 8Ds and SEAs as appropriate - Sign off any new operators prior to them working unsupervised on the lines - Complete product and line audits in all areas/lines as scheduled **Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required** - Read and work from technical drawings (GD&T) - Experience of using standard measurement equipment - Experience of Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) or FARO arm operation - Experience of completing product and line audits - Basic IT Skills - Work well as a team **Essential qualifications**: - Apprenticed trained or 2 years experienced in similar role - ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering **Additional desirable skills, experience and qualifications**: - Setting and CMM programming experience or FARO arm operation We offer a competitive salary alongside 25 days holiday per annum not including UK bank holidays.
