We are looking for someone with strong apprenticeships knowledge to join the Talent Development team at Norfolk County Council as an HR Adviser – Apprenticeships. It's a multi-faceted role where you'll be able to get involved in a wide range of tasks and projects, and you'll contribute to the ongoing success of our apprenticeship programme across the organisation.
Our apprenticeship programme is something we're really proud of, and we've been recognised as one of the top 100 apprenticeship employers in the UK. We've supported over 1500 apprenticeship starts since the apprenticeship levy was introduced in 2017, and apprentices continue to be integral to our strategic ambitions. From early careers to learning and development opportunities, apprenticeships help ensure we have the right skills and people in place to deliver services to the people of Norfolk.
Working in HR as part of the Talent Development team, this role will involve working with internal and external stakeholders to drive our apprenticeship programme forward. This will mean managing prospective and current apprentices, as well as working with their managers and with training providers. There will also be ongoing project work as we continually develop and deliver our apprenticeship strategy, focusing on how apprentices can help support our wider workforce strategy. It's a busy role, where you will need to provide professional advice, challenge people and influence decisions, and where a proactive approach and great customer service will be essential.
To be considered for the role, you will need demonstrable experience working with apprentices and working on apprenticeship projects/programmes. The job description refers to a detailed knowledge and understanding of operational issues within the professional area – in this instance the professional area is apprenticeships. In addition, you will need;
- Experience delivering professional advice to managers / stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide variety of people.
- Confidence to challenge assumptions and to strive for continual improvement.
- A positive and proactive approach, and the ability to take ownership of situations and to use your initiative.
This is a great opportunity to undertake a busy but highly rewarding role, and play a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of our Apprenticeship programme. If you think you have what it takes, then we would love to hear from you
