Overview

Duties

  • Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote children's development across all areas of learning.
  • Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for children and their families.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to support their individual learning journeys.
  • Foster effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's development and encouraging parental involvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained within the nursery setting.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting positive interactions among children.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years frameworks.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential.
  • A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications is highly desirable.
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide and support junior staff members.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous for potential off-site activities or visits.
