Senior Performance Marketing Specialist (Contract – 2 Months, Remote)

Makerz is seeking a Senior Performance Marketing Specialist for a 2-month project focused on auditing, restructuring, and elevating performance across our international accounts. This role may convert into a full-time hire depending on results.
We are looking for someone who brings depth, clarity, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver meaningful improvements — not just day-to-day optimisation. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, strong at presenting insights, and able to lead clients through complex performance decisions. You will collaborate with our in-house PPC and Paid Social specialists to add senior strategic oversight, strengthen frameworks, and support the continuous improvement of performance across markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Audit & Strategic Leadership
- Conduct deep audits across Meta Ads, Google Ads, PMax, Search and GA4 to identify high-impact improvement opportunities.
- Develop a clear, prioritised performance roadmap with quick wins, structural recommendations and long-term strategic direction.
- Produce diagnostic reports with strong narrative clarity, outlining issues, opportunities and recommended solutions.
2. Paid Media Strategy, Execution & Optimisation
- Develop, execute and manage data-driven paid media strategies across Meta and Google Ads.
- Build campaigns with meticulous attention to structure, targeting, intent segmentation and tracking.
- Define keyword targets using tools such as SEMRush, SpyFu and Google Keyword Planner.
- Optimise Search, PMax and Paid Social campaigns for high-intent performance.
- Manage geo-targeting strategies across multiple metropolitan markets.
- Create and manage A/B and multivariate tests for ads, landing pages and funnels.
3. Measurement, Tracking & Attribution
- Implement and troubleshoot tracking issues across GA4, Meta Pixel, UTMs and server-side configurations.
- Validate and optimise conversion tracking, event quality and attribution logic.
- Detect and mitigate revenue loss due to click fraud.
- Work with internal teams to ensure tracking is correctly implemented across all campaigns and landing pages.
4. Data Analysis & Insight Reporting
- Use GA4, Looker Studio, Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads reporting to develop market-level insights.
- Determine customer profiles, audience behaviours and revenue-driving patterns.
- Track KPIs, investigate anomalies and take corrective action when performance declines.
- Produce clear reports and present them during online meetings.
- Translate data into actionable recommendations with clarity and strategic direction.
5. Communication, Collaboration & Client Leadership
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams and flag blockers early.
- Confidently run weekly client strategy calls, deliver insights and handle challenging conversations.
- Build and maintain high-trust client relationships through strong communication and expertise.
- Bring a consultative, forward-thinking approach to paid media, identifying opportunities and elevating existing strategies.
6. Continuous Innovation & Industry Awareness
- Stay fully up to date with PPC, PMax, Meta and GA4 trends.
- Analyse competitor practices and recommend innovative strategies.
- Challenge existing approaches and contribute fresh thinking supported by data.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 5+ years experience in performance marketing
- Deep expertise with Meta Ads, Google Ads, PMax, Search and GA4
- Demonstrated success with multi-location or multi-market accounts
- Strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities
- Confident presenter with excellent communication skills
- Proactive, autonomous, and highly accountable
- Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving abilities
Bonus
- Experience with hospitality, lifestyle, restaurant or retail brands
- Familiarity with booking funnels (OpenTable, SevenRooms, internal systems)
- Knowledge of CRO or landing page optimisation
- Forecasting, budgeting or scenario planning experience
