Engagement Learner and Course Co-Ordinator

York Learning, City of York Council's community education provider, are looking for the next piece of their Operations jigsaw. Our Operations team are the administration glue that allows our range of accredited and non-accredited provision to be delivered to our learners. This role would have a focus within two key aspects of our delivery – our work with ESOL learners and our work with learners looking to develop their digital skills and confidence.
Our ideal candidate has experience of working with learners who do not speak English as their first language, either lived experience or worked experience of community education/further education and has a high standard of digital skill, either holding L3 digital qualifications or is prepared to work towards those and can demonstrate good data manipulation using databases, spreadsheets etc. The role involves working across multiple teams and being able to juggle different deadlines so experience of this again is what the ideal candidate will bring as our service is constantly evolving and flexing due to the demands of the community we serve. This role is suitable as a job sharing position.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
